Simulated herbicide application between rows of black pepper crops

چکیده

The efficiency of applications through spraying is connected to the capacity minimize losses by endo-drift and exo-drift while ensuring adequate coverage deposition on target surface; spray nozzles main factor application quality. However, few researches focus technology in black pepper crops. objective this work was evaluate droplets simulated herbicide using different nozzles. experiment conducted a commercial crop area variety Bragantina, randomized block with 2×2+1 factorial arrangement four replications per treatment. used were XR11002 VP, AI11002 VS, without protector (Chapéu de Napoleão) an additional treatment manual backpack sprayer standard nozzle protector. results showed that, under these conditions, VS resulted between rows decreasing risk phytotoxicity plants. VP presented higher lower third lowest rows.

Transgenic Crops for Herbicide Resistance

A year after the introduction of the first commercial transgenic crop (Flavr SavrTM tomato with a longer shelf life) in 1994, transgenic, herbicide-resistant crops (HRCs) were introduced (Table 3.1) with the introduction of bromoxynil(3,5dibromo-4-hydroxybenzonitrile) resistant cotton and glufosinate[2-amino-4(hydroxymethylphosphinyl)butanoic acid] resistant canola. Bromoxynil resistance had li...

Herbicide Resistant Weeds and Crops

Modern herbicidal weed control often exploits physiological differences among plants and takes advantage of herbicide tolerance or resistance in crop plants to bring about the selective removal of susceptible weeds. The Weed Science Society of America defines herbicide tolerance as “the inherent ability of a plant to survive and reproduce after herbicide treatment” which suggests that herbicide...

Potential Environmental Impacts of Herbicide-Resistant Crops

68 Abstract Transgenic bromoxynil-, glufosinate-, and glyphosate-resistant crops have been commercialized and grown extensively in the Western Hemisphere and, to a lesser extent, elsewhere. Bromoxynil-resistant crops have been removed from the market. Few new herbicide-resistant crops (HRCs) are likely to be introduced in the near future. Glyphosate-resistant cotton and soybean have become domi...

Crops for Certified Organic Pepper Production

Introduction Organic production rose to 2.3 million acres in the U.S. in 2001 (USDA-ERS, 2002). Much of the increase has been associated with the implementation of consistent federal standards for products marketed as “organic” in October 2002 (USDA/AMS, 2002). In order to meet certified organic requirements in the state of Iowa (IDALS, 2000), a soilbuilding cover crop is required for at least ...
